Think healthier not skinnier

It’s no lie that social media plays a huge role in our world today. A lot of people scroll through Instagram or Tiktok for several hours . Some people’s first task of the day is probably to scroll through social media. In an awkward situation or don’t want to talk to someone? Take out your phone and scroll through your social media, problem solved!

Now, through social media, unrealistic beauty standards have been created and have risen. This implies not just for girls but for boys as well. It is expected of us to look or act a certain way to be considered “attractive” or “manly”. There exists a lot of emphasis on weight being a criteria for attractiveness. When did our world become like this? It’s so upsetting to think that some people think they need to be a certain weight to be considered “attractive”.

There is no such thing as a “perfect” body. It’s something that we have created. Every body shape is attractive in it’s own way and you shouldn’t harm your mental or physical health to meet the unrealistic standards that exist on social media. You should lose or gain weight because you want to be healthier. If you don’t want to change anything about you then that’s great! Lastly, I’d like to end this by mentioning that everyone is beautiful, no matter your body shape or size.
